On Saturday morning, the Sisterhood clothes swap took place at the youth centre. The women were met by a room full of different clothes: jackets, jumpers, long trousers, jeans, shorts, jupes, dresses, shirts, blouses, pyjamas, hiking trousers, sports shirts, party dresses, shoes ... and also some accessories like foulards, bags and jewellery. A lot of collected clothes came together and the participants could look through, try on and take away what they liked. The women filled their bags and enjoyed the new clothes. They were able to voluntarily put something into the box. A nice amount of money was collected, which we are happy to pass on to the refugee aid of the seetal chile. We also had a nice chat with coffee, tea and biscuits, just like a real shopping trip should be. It was a nice morning, which was visibly appreciated by the women present, especially after Sisterhood has not been very active in the last two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, not so many women were able to attend this great event, which is why there were still some clothes left over. We were able to give some of them directly to the clothing room for refugees in the youth centre. The rest is currently being stored until a suitable drop-off location can be found. So if anyone missed the clothes swap but is still interested in this sustainable way of getting clothes, please feel free to contact me. All are welcome to help themselves!
