Not even a month has passed since I was in Switzerland, drinking coffee and eating carrot cake with you. And already I'm back in Mesopotamia, where the Garden of Eden was located and where Abraham was born. As I travelled by bus through the vastness of my country, saw the mighty Tigris and looked at the barren, treeless plains, I was overcome by a feeling of home: \"I'm finally back.<\/em>\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was a huge weight off my mind when I realised that I hadn't completely forgotten my Kurdish after all. It did take me a moment to immerse myself in the culture again. For example, a friend recently invited me to a football match. I was a bit surprised when he told me that it takes place from 00:00 to 02:00 in the morning. However, these are normal Kurdish times here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Something that has given me more food for thought since I've been back here is the many contacts and friendships I've made. I now know so many Kurds that I'm not sure who to invest in and who not to. There's the owner of the grocer's shop around the corner, the doorman of our house or the tour guide next door, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here I ask for your prayers, dear seetal chile, that I may be able to discern better and better who among them is open and who is not.
