Last year saw important developments in the lives of our two sons, Matthias and Dominik. Matthias successfully completed his Master's degree in theology at STH Basel in September. He then completed an internship at his church in Basel until the end of the year, where he worked closely with the pastor. Since 12 January, he has been doing his military service as a \u00abDurchdiener\u00bb in a medical recruit school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dominik was also able to celebrate an important milestone: the successful completion of his bachelor's degree in medicine. He is currently preparing for his upcoming semester exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regina works enthusiastically in the office of a Salvation Army parish in Zurich. She enjoys the good teamwork and the varied secretarial work. In her free time, she maintains a lively social life, attends cultural events and looks after her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One focus of Markus\u2019 work at MEOS is his involvement in various meetings in which Muslims study the Bible together with Christians. In addition to intensive theological dialogue, he also witnesses often difficult life situations such as uncertainty in the asylum process, psychological stress or cases of domestic violence. Rejected asylum applications and deportations are particularly challenging. For the last group, we pray that those affected will be able to come to terms with the rejection they have experienced, actively integrate into local Christian communities in their home countries and grow in their faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, there are also the \u00absuccessful\u00bb stories of families who are integrating better and better, speaking better and better German and slowly growing into the Swiss labour market. The latter group is generally better integrated into the community with their peers, categorises difficulties into a fixed belief system and finds motivation for practical progress in integration. It is a privilege to study the challenging message of Jesus with men from such a background. May they recognise Jesus as their Lord and Saviour!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
