We returned from our three-week holiday in India in mid-November. In India, we experienced churches that are very different to what we are used to in the seetal chile. In theology, however, the aim is to convey the biblical message in a way that is adapted to the respective culture. The technical term is contextualisation. I was particularly impressed by one church in India. It wasn't the building, but the way they celebrated services. Many people sat on the floor, the songs were all sung in Hindi and accompanied by Indian instruments. I didn't understand a single word during the entire service. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to be there. Because what I experienced there was a service adapted to the Indian context. When I spoke to the pastor, he told me that around 80% of the people there were Hindus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This experience made me proud once again to belong to a church like seetal chile. Because we organise our services, offers and events according to exactly the same principle. We adapt the form to our culture with the aim of introducing as many people as possible to Jesus Christ. Just as the apostle Paul said: \"Yes, I am trying to find common ground with all people in order to win at least some of them for Christ\"<\/em> (1 Corinthians 9:22b NLB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n One way we want to reach people with the good news is through the livestream.
