Pleased, the woman asks a few questions about our book and our religion. To express her interest in this woman, Regina asks her about her faith and the Koran. This fundamentally changes the nature of the conversation: her answers turn into long monologues, she swaps her everyday language for a seemingly learnt religious jargon and the normal conversation becomes more of a 'sales pitch'. Regina finds this change unpleasant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While discussing this experience over dinner, we wondered how often our fellow human beings also feel repelled by our conversion efforts. We realised again how important it is to introduce our fellow human beings to Jesus in an empathetic way. Please pray for such opportunities and that we will use them in a way that is pleasing to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We had a visit from our sons over the festive period. We really enjoyed our short time together. They had to return to their universities at the beginning of January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have set a number of priorities for 2023 and are now considering how to implement them: empathetic sharing of our faith, nurturing local believers and motivating local people for 'ministry', etc. In the year ahead, our country will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. We are approaching elections whose outcome is more uncertain than at any time in the last 20 years. The population is increasingly feeling the effects of the economic imbalance in everyday life. Ideas and hopes are bubbling in people's heads. May God protect the country and its people from bad developments.
