I recently came across a spoken word piece by Leah Weigand, which she presented at the TechArts conference:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A dream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Because yes, we have a dream, We dream of a church - We dream of a family, I am happy to share this dream. For me, however, there is another dimension: dealing with the holiness of God. The quality of a congregation can be measured by how seriously they take the mystery of the strange, completely different God. As a congregation, let us immerse ourselves in the Holy of Holies<\/em> of the temple, where it is somewhat frightening and strange, but incredibly fascinating and beautiful? Or do we remain in the predictability and safety of the Saints<\/em>where it's all about beautiful sermons, well-organised events, good music, visitor friendliness and pizza? I dream that new people will find their way to our church because they are drawn here by the wonder of the mystery of God's holiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We want to use this year to engage with the sometimes terrifying holiness of God. We see in this the potential for our life of faith to be raised to a new level. At the same time, we are aware that we can hardly describe the incomprehensible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We cordially invite you to open your heart and consciously engage in encounters with the completely different. We dream of a church.
But less about the building itself,
but rather in terms of content.
A church in which Jesus is at the centre,
and our actions revolve around his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
completely doorless and barrier-free,
so that it really is open to everyone.
And by everyone, I also mean the ones I find funny,
because they are too bright, too special and too different for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in which everyone is different and yet all one,
in which everyone is themselves and yet all are.
Their limbs endure and bear each other,
and who give their best,
because they have the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
