The market stalls at the bazaar close, after a few minutes all the streets are empty and the city comes to a standstill. 18:18 The sun has set and the muezzin's voice rings out the evening prayer. It is "Maghrib", the time for breaking the fast.

We are in the middle of the month of Ramadan. During this time, religiosity in our small town increases rapidly. People go to the mosque more often and give alms more regularly. A common saying that we hear here and say ourselves is: "Xwidê ji te razî bit!" (May God be pleased with you!) Because that is the great hope of the Kurds. That their good deeds are enough for God and that he is pleased with them.

On the one hand, there is a spiritual heaviness in the air that makes people more depressed, impatient and irritable. On the other hand, the Kurds are often more open to spiritual conversations and prayers during this time.

I now encounter questions such as whether Jesus is a prophet or God, or statements such as "Jesus did not die on the cross" almost every day. And explaining this is not always easy for me, especially because my Kurdish is still at a low level.

But I am convinced that the gospel is a power of God that does not come back empty. Therefore, dear friends of seetal chile, I invite you to pray with us that the Kurds will experience Jesus personally during this Ramadan.

Kind regards eue Tinu

If you would like to subscribe to Martin von Schoultz's newsletter, you can get in touch with his contact person Melanie Meier (079 723 18 33).

["post-9678","seetal_chile_poscht","type-seetal_chile_poscht","status-publish","hentry
["GET
