Isaiah reports in a prophetic vision about the Messiah and his kingdom of peace: \"Then the wolf and the lamb will live together in harmony; the leopard and the goat will camp together. Calf, lion and fattened cattle will become friends and a little boy will look after them<\/em>\" (Isaiah 11:6 NLB). In my mind's eye, I imagine a meadow with pleasant temperatures and sunshine, where such scenes take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Bad Schussenried at the community weekend, you could watch such scenes sitting on a chair. There were no wolves or lions to be seen, but there were calves, sheep, friends and little boys throughout. \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was happening in front of my eyes touched my heart very much and I thought that this kingdom of God already now<\/em> is. Young people played with children as well as older adults, long-standing church people with those who have just arrived and are looking for their place, single people with families. The church weekend was a piece of heaven on earth and I am very grateful to God for the culture of openness and welcome that has developed at seetal chile in recent years. God has entrusted us with something very valuable that we should preserve, nurture and develop together. The father of one family commented: \"The church weekend was exactly as we had hoped it would be.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This may sound a little too euphoric to your ears. However, a lot of feedback confirms my personal impression. Despite all the joy, I am fully aware that for some people finding their way into our community is much more difficult and they struggle for a long time. How can our church contribute even more to the kingdom of God? already now<\/em> and less and less not yet<\/em> become? I am convinced that it means taking a step on the water for everyone involved. People who are new to the community are invited to take part in church events, work together or eat in the bistro, despite inner barriers. Long-time seetal chile people are challenged to leave their inner circles now and then to reach out to people who are even less familiar to them. When we do this, a huge joy arises, because we open up a tent in which the Holy Spirit dwells and creates a heavenly atmosphere.
