glow Ameisli & Kids - Leaders' afternoon 03
In the coming semester, the glow Ameisli and kids' team will hold regular leader afternoons. This means that we will not be organising any afternoons with the children during this time. Our aim is to grow as a team, expand our skills and develop new ideas so that we can offer the children an even more enjoyable and enriching programme in the future.
The programme is only one part of what we want to focus on. Our main concern is that we can inspire children to live a life with Jesus. All others are subordinate to this concern. We will also have times of praise and prayer together as a team in order to emphasise this concern.
So that you, who are interested, can participate, a leader will write a short blog post each time and give an insight into the experience.
Our third leaders' afternoon took place on 18.10.25. We met at the seetal chile. Afterwards we walked together to Fornholz. A delicious lunch awaited us there, cooked by a group over the fire.

We then had a worship session accompanied by a guitar. Next, we went through the leadership code that we had established last time. Shortly after that, we split into four groups and read an information sheet on the topic of "Dealing with fire". We discussed the sheet and collected the most important points to bear in mind when cooking or baking with children over a fire. In the same groups, we were each given a different recipe to bake over the fire. We managed this more or less well, but the cake and brownies were not quite done.

While the snack was baking, we played bulldog in the meadow. After we had eaten our (almost) fully baked snack, we split into groups again, which were larger than the previous ones. In these groups, we used pantomime examples to demonstrate the safety concept and how to react in certain situations. We then tidied up our area and extinguished the fire. We walked back to seetal chile and finished up there. It was a very instructive and fun afternoon.
