glow Mountain Weekend 2025

"On the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came down on Mount Ararat" (Genesis 8:4). In keeping with this verse, it gives me great pleasure to announce the seventh glow Mountain Weekend!

Together as glow Youth and glow Next we will take the train to Bergün on the Albula Pass and hike in 3-3.5 hours to the Ela hut, where we will also cook, stay and sleep. For the more ambitious among us, there is the option of travelling on to Preda and then hiking around Piz Ela to the same destination, which takes around 5.5 hours. So there is something for everyone, and the direct ascent also leaves enough time for breaks and to discover nature. On Sunday, we take the direct route back down to the valley to have lunch before setting off on the return journey.

Cost for all under 18s: CHF 55.00 (SAC members - CHF 5.00)

Cost for everyone aged 18 and over: CHF 70.00 (SAC members - CHF 10.00)

Price reduction GA SBB: -30.00 CHF

More information will be available in the week before the event. However, you will need at least the following equipment:

• Hiking backpack for 2 days (approx. 30-50 litres)
• Outdoor shoes (if possible with a high shaft)
• Sun and rain protection
• Outdoor or sports clothing for hiking
• Silk sleeping bag (for hygiene reasons, blankets are available)

If you are missing any of these items, you are welcome to contact me - many can be borrowed. You don't have to organise anything for the evening meal on Saturday and the morning meal on Sunday.

The registration deadline is 17 August, sleeping places are limited. If the weather forecast is miserable, we reserve the right to adapt the programme or, in the worst case, to cancel the event altogether.
