Travelling together in worship
As a church, it is very important to us that as many people as possible feel addressed and involved in the church service, especially when singing and worshipping together. Over the past few months, we have taken a number of conscious steps to achieve this and would like to give you a brief insight.
A central element is our monthly service with communion. Since this year, we have deliberately organised the worship time in a simple, acoustic setting. This creates space for multiple voices and a supporting congregational song. Our wish is that the focus is not on the stage, but on the collective voice of the congregation worshipping God and reaching out to Him.
We will now regularly invite people to a worship evening, which will take place on the first or second Wednesday of each month. This evening is also acoustically characterised and is intended to create a time in which worship can be experienced in a personal, deep and also communal way.
We are also currently working on a «Music Guidelines» project. People from the church leadership, the technical team and the music core team are involved in this process. The aim is to develop a sustainable and balanced overall concept that meets the different needs and generations of our congregation. Topics such as volume, musical design and forms of worship are consciously considered together. We know that perceptions can differ. For some it is sometimes too loud, for others too quiet. This makes it all the more important for us to strike a respectful balance that strengthens togetherness and worship.
In all of this, our central concern remains clear: we want to promote congregational singing. Because we believe that there is a special power in singing together that unites, encourages and strengthens faith. We want to worship our God and place him at the centre of our services and lives.
Thank you very much for your support, thinking and singing along.

Thank you very much for giving so much thought to congregational singing!
Just an idea:
How about a song from ”Hymns of the Generations”?
I love these songs!
Dear Susanne
Thank you very much for your kind words and ideas. It is indeed a great concern for us that we as a church can grow in worship and come before God as one.
For some time now we have actually been playing songs like “Von guten Mächten”, “Friedefürst”, “Keine isch wie Du” or “Du grosse Gott” from the album “Hymnen der Generationen” by Eden.
I look forward to singing these songs with you and the congregation in the future.
