Volunteers wanted: Emergency support for new parents
In June, we wrote about the new initiative from the Lichtblick Social Welfare Association Reports: We provide straightforward, free support to new parents in the Seetal region – with home-cooked meals and small shopping trips.
Over the summer, we were able to support our first family. Several people brought round freshly cooked meals, which provided the family with much-needed relief. This support was greatly appreciated!
To ensure that we can continue to provide quick and straightforward assistance with enquiries in future, we would like to set up a pool of volunteers. And that’s why we need you!
Can you imagine helping new parents by providing one or more home-cooked meals or doing a bit of their shopping? If so, please sign up for our pool of volunteers via this blog post.
Your working hours remain flexible: When a family needs support, we ask the people in the volunteer pool who is currently available and able to help. Coordination is then handled easily via a WhatsApp group. For each request, you decide for yourself whether and how often you’d like to help.
Thank you so much for helping out and making it easier for new parents to settle into their new family life!
