Now he wants to become a pastor!
Angsar Gmür was director of the homeowners' association, tenor, ventriloquist and tough businessman. Now he wants to become a pastor.
Gmür was born into a mountain farming family in Amden as the seventh of eight children. His mother died when he was eleven. Under his strict father, he had to work hard and had only a pair of shoes with holes. Even at 27, he was underweight and his doctor didn't want to believe that he didn't have enough money for food. But after completing his apprenticeship as a lab technician, Gmür went on to study economics. He earned the money for that as a cleaner.
In the meantime, he has retired and is studying theology. As a pastor, he wants to step in when there is a need. "I may not be the best pastor," he says. "But I'll be the funniest.
On 1 March Ansgar Gmür will be our guest at the Talk service at 10:00. A good opportunity to drop in and bring friends and acquaintances. Even "non-churchgoers" are very welcome.
