In the coming semester, the glow Ameisli and kids' team will hold regular leader afternoons. This means that we will not be organising any afternoons with the children during this time. Our aim is to grow as a team, expand our skills and develop new ideas so that we can offer the children an even more enjoyable and enriching programme in the future.

The programme is only one part of what we want to focus on. Our main concern is that we can inspire children to live a life with Jesus. All others are subordinate to this concern. We will also have times of praise and prayer together as a team in order to emphasise this concern.

So that you, who are interested, can take part, a leader will write a short blog post and give an insight into the experience.

Today was the first leaders' afternoon. We met at 12:00 and had lunch together. Afterwards we discussed what's coming up in the next few months. Next time we will help out at other youth groups in the area to see how they organise the afternoon for the children.

Today's programme was in Aarau at the Roggenhuser quarry. The programme included three tasks in three teams. We went abseiling, improved our fire-making skills and thought about what we would like to do and learn together as a leadership team in the coming months. We also collected ideas on what activities we could do with the children in the future.

It was a great first leader's afternoon, where we learnt how to make a fire with just a few resources and had a great time together.

We were able to abseil down a 25 metre high wall. Some went quickly, others were a little more cautious, but all our leaders had the courage to abseil down.
