Dear friends of the seetal chile

by Cédric Brügger

For some time now, there has been a rack with funny threads and cloths in the entrance area of seetal chile at the info egge - some may wonder what this is all about. Others, on the other hand, lend a hand from time to time. What has evolved colourfully over the months is a weaving frame. This symbolises the time as a follower of Jesus here on earth. Jesus went back to his Father and is now preparing homes for his followers. These in turn weave a tapestry with their lives. In other words, they orientate their lives towards Jesus Christ and try to shape their lives around him. The aim is not to earn the recognition of Jesus Christ with my lifestyle, but rather the actions, deeds and being of a follower of Jesus reflect the relationship with Jesus. It is a result of the relationship.

We have now been travelling for five months with our annual theme "EIFACH muetig - with Jesus as our role model". In which areas have you already taken steps in your discipleship? Is there something new coming up? This is exactly what the weaving frame is for. You can weave in a piece of textile as a sign of your step of faith. This visualisation can help you to take a more holistic approach - namely by symbolically weaving in the inner decision that came from your feelings (heart) and mind (head) (hand).

The topic that has been on my mind for a long time is serenity. I often lack this, especially when dealing with the people closest to me. One concrete step I have taken in this regard is to put my mobile phone away more consistently. As a result, I live more in the here and now, go to bed earlier and, as a side effect, I notice how a slight serenity becomes noticeable in my life... This is how I weave my life - where are you weaving?

The nice thing about this joint project is that it reminds me that I'm not travelling alone. There are others who are on it themselves. Who sometimes take small, sometimes big steps in their discipleship. In the end, a beautiful, colourful carpet is created - a masterpiece to the glory of God.

Future glow Ameisli and kids

from Jonas Hauser

We are building a church for the next generation. This mission statement characterises seetal chile - and a central part of it is our children's programme. With glow Ameisli and Kids, our Saturday programme, we want to inspire children from our church, but also from the village, to live a life with Jesus.

Our heartfelt desire is for children to have real experiences - experiences with God and with other children. We want them to make friends and develop deep relationships. With our programme, we want to go out into nature, into the heart of God's creation - so that we can discover its Creator and find joy in it.

In recent years, however, we have noticed that participation in our children's programme has been rather low. This has challenged us as a team and prompted us to honestly scrutinise our programme: Where do we stand? And how can we develop it further?

Following this process of reflection, we have jointly decided to invest specifically in the further development and strengthening of this work in the coming semester. We want to take time to learn from each other and from other children's programmes - from experienced leaders, from good ideas and new impulses. We are therefore suspending the Ameisli and Kids programme for six months and are consciously investing this time in our team and our vision.

We know that this step harbours both opportunities and risks. But we are convinced that there is great potential in this path. We want to take it with confidence - with the aim of starting afresh after six months with a breath of fresh air.

Our finances

by Christoph Leimgruber

A thousand thanks for the huge amount of donations received. Every month I receive over CHF 50,000 in donations. Behind this are many people who willingly pass on their money.

Nevertheless, our small financial chart shows that the shortfall to the budget in donations has increased once again. This means that we are currently living off our reserves. We hope that this trend will not continue, but can be reversed. Otherwise, we would have to cut expenditure and reduce the budget.

Info about people

On 8 May, Meik and Alisa Ramseier welcomed their son Nathan Matthis Ramseier in each other's arms for the first time. Johanna and Helena have had a baby brother. We wish the whole family God's blessing from the bottom of our hearts!

Ruedi Kunz was allowed to go home to his Creator and heavenly Father on 21 May 2025. Ruedi was an important pillar in our church for many decades. We wish all his family and friends the experience of God's closeness and comfort.

Miriam Oberholzer is now responsible for the kitchen (and is also a member of the bistro management team). Hadassa Zollinger moved to central Switzerland after getting married. She is therefore relinquishing her role as Lifegroup Leader and Steffi Altwegg takes over its Lifegroup. Chiara Adam moves from glow Next to the childcare team. Andrea Schmid is leaving the Sisterhood team. In the Zieschtigs-Kafi team Seraina Gugger the place of Esthi Wildi. Barbara Urech is ending her commitment to the decoration team. Thank you very much for your many years of service! A good start in your new role to all those who are starting.

Timon Altwegg will be studying theology by distance learning at the IGW Zurich from autumn 2025. He will complete the practical part of the dual study programme on a voluntary basis at seetal chile. Our task is to provide him with professional and personal support and to pay the community contribution required by IGW towards his studies. We are also doing this for Jonas Hauser. As this is paid from tithes, it does not affect the budget. We are delighted when young people prepare themselves specifically for service in God's kingdom.

For the agenda

About Whitsun (7-9 June) there will be a Tent camp takes place. In the footsteps of Daniel, we experience action together, listen to stories and simply have a good time. The camp is for all children from Year 2 to Year 6.

At 12 June meets the Generation+ to an event with Eveline Lieberherr on the Topic "MemoWorthy". This afternoon, we will explore the question of how we can provide our brain with "Merk Worthy".

At 14 June the women meet in a Occasion of Sisterhood to the Games evening. You can register on our blog.

At 17 June at 20:00 finds Abentüür Gebät will take place. For this evening, we will collect prayer requests from people in the seetal chile and then pray for them together. We would be delighted if you could take part - either by sharing a concern or by praying for it. Please submit your request in advance via a blog post or by email to the seetal chile office.

At 21 June at 14:00 the ecclesiastical Wedding of Heinz and Claudia Lüscher in the St Michael's Chapel in Root. They will be delighted if you take part in this event!

Also on 21 June at 14:15 the men's event sets off for a visit to the KVA. There is also the option of joining us at 18:00 for a cosy evening in the seetal chile. You can find out more and register on the blog.

At 29 June at 10:30 am (!) Together with the other churches from Seon we organise the Youth festival service on the theme "Colourful and colourful". This service takes place in the car park between Hall 5 and the triple gymnasium. There will be nothing going on in our premises on this day.

From 22 to 25 May 2026 finds our Community Weekend in Bad Schussenried will take place. Why don't you reserve this date so that you can join us when we spend time together as a church family? This is a good opportunity for people who are new to seetal chile to familiarise themselves with the group - and a good opportunity for old hands to get to know new people.
