Tri for God - my Challenge for Compassion
Report by Daniel Rubsch-King
The aim of this project is to raise funds for 73 needy youth in Rwanda to start and complete vocational training that will provide them with the essential skills and knowledge needed for future meaningful employment.
The amount needed to enable a young person to complete this 12-month training is USD 230 (CHF 18 per month). The overall goal is to support all 73 youths by raising USD 16'590.00.
Out of the total 841 months (73*12), I have received support for 224 months (26%) so far and thank God for the open hearts that have made this possible. Supporters of my project also receive my weekly newsletter (if they wish) in which I orientate about my training and am very happy to answer questions.
A donation of any amount will help these young people realise their dream and of course all funds will go to the project via Compassion. Every donation counts and on my Website (which also gives you more details about the project) you can contribute if you like.
My motivation
Triathlon is my passion and I will compete in the Roth Long Distance Triathlon in 2021, a world famous institution in triathlon. The idea of swimming 3.8 km, cycling 180 km and then running a full marathon is fascinating and I have to invest a lot of time, summon all my willpower and self-discipline and push my limits to a new level.
Passion is the key here and is found in Compassion, which helps countless children around the world who do not have the blessing of our level of prosperity in Switzerland, who have fewer opportunities mentally and spiritually, who grow up in very precarious circumstances, without security and without hope for a future worth living. These children are loved by God and deserve our support. God has done so much good in my life, blessed me immeasurably, and now it is time to be a blessing to others!
My goal for Roth is to arrive healthy and with a smile on my face. The focus is not on a personal record, but on the motivation to support the great project in Rwanda.
